Biography

Alexa Moneii Agaloos is a versatile filmmaker and a graduate of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, with expertise in directing, editing, and producing for both fiction and documentary formats. Her directorial work on Ka Benjie (Fiction Shorts) earned multiple nominations—including Best Musical Scoring, Best Editing, and Best Film—and received a Special Citation from the Mowelfund Film Institute. It was also an official selection at the 2024 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival. Alexa directed and edited Alteraksyon: Sa Likod ng Lente, a documentary that placed 3rd in the Philippine Journalism Research Conference 2023. As an editor and sound designer, she worked on Al-owlah (UNHCR 2nd Refugee Film Festival finalist, 2nd Best Short Film), and Red Strings of Faith, where she served as editor, GFX artist, and DP—earning a Best Screenplay award at Gawad Sining 2023. Her recent works also include Kahon (Gawad CCP Alternatibo finalist), Lucky People, Hiram Na Riles (DokyuBata 2024 Finalist) and Our One and Only Bab(o)y (CinePanalo 2025 Finalist), where she took on roles as producer and editor.
