Biography

Ari Lesmana is an Indonesian musician, songwriter, and actor best known as the lead vocalist of the indie band Fourtwnty. Born into a Minang family and raised in Pekanbaru, Ari pursued higher education at the London School of Public Relations, earning a master's degree at the age of 22. Before entering the music scene, he briefly worked in the banking sector and in internal communications at the Indonesia Stock Exchange. As a founding member of Fourtwnty, Ari is recognized for his reflective lyrics and strong acoustic musical style, with songs like “Zona Nyaman” and “Aku Tenang” becoming anthems for the younger generation. His works often explore the relationship between humans and nature, social life, and the search for self-identity. Outside of music, Ari has also ventured into acting, appearing in the films Ben & Jody (2022) and Budi Pekerti (2023). He is known as a modest yet expressive artist, actively advocating for courage, freedom of expression, and environmental awareness in his creative process.
